Apple on Tuesday introduced three new home products built around its overhauled Siri AI system: a $299 smart display called HomeView, a new fourth-generation $299 Apple TV 4K, and a $149 HomePod mini 2. The announcement, detailed in Apple's newsroom post and companion releases, ties the company's home hardware to a single AI platform, though the headline AI features are arriving in stages rather than all at once.

Siri AI: On-Device Processing, Apple's Own Models, and a Beta Label

Apple says Siri AI is "an entirely new version of Siri" with broad world knowledge, richer conversational ability and onscreen awareness, and that it is "powered by an entirely new architecture built on the latest generation of Apple Foundation Models," according to the company's newsroom releases. Siri requests across HomeView, the new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2 can be handled either on-device or through Apple's Private Cloud Compute, which the company says keeps processed data from being stored or made accessible to Apple or anyone else.

Importantly, the feature is shipping as a beta. Apple says Siri AI is available in beta in HomeView software version 27.2 and in tvOS 27.2, reaching existing Apple TV 4K hardware (2nd generation or later) in eight English-language markets: the U.S., Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa and the U.K. HomePod mini 2, notably, ships without Siri AI at all; Apple says the capability will arrive "via a future software update" in those same markets. Apple also discloses that some Apple Intelligence features relying on server-side models carry daily usage limits, adding that "expanded access to such features will be available for a fee in the future."

HomeView will not be sold in the European Union, with Apple stating that "Siri AI is currently unavailable in iOS in the EU" and that the company is "working constructively with the EU in an attempt to find a path forward." Conversations started on HomeView sync via iCloud and can continue in the Siri app on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch or Apple Vision Pro, and Apple says even users without an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone or iPad will get Siri AI's world-knowledge and conversational benefits through HomeView itself.

HomeView: Specs, Privacy Design and Rollout

HomeView features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display designed to sit on a tabletop or be wall-mounted, running Apple's A18 chip. It recognizes up to six people by face, and Apple says content from apps like Messages and Calendar is "only surfaced when the enrolled user is recognized by their face, and when their paired iPhone or iPad is present and has been recently unlocked." Camera and microphone data is processed in what Apple calls "Secure Exclaves" on the A18 chip, which it says cannot be accessed by HomeView software, apps, the user, or Apple itself.

On the hardware side, audio comes from two custom full-range drivers in the display plus a down-firing woofer and two force-cancelling passive radiators in the base. The screen's automatic brightness ranges from 500 nits down to 0.3 nits for nightstand use, and the Home Camera face can livestream up to nine video feeds simultaneously. Pre-orders opened October 13 in Australia, Canada, India, New Zealand, the U.K. and the U.S., with availability beginning Friday, November 13, at $299. Wall-mounted installs require separately sold Schneider Home mounts, starting at $59.95 for a USB-C wall connector, $79.95 for an AC wired version, with a $129.95 PoE wired mount arriving in early 2027. Apple's senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, Greg Joswiak, said HomeView "recognizes your face to shift from a household screen to your own experience, fills the room with incredible sound, keeps you connected to the people who matter most with FaceTime, and makes it easy to control your smart home."

Apple TV 4K and HomePod Mini 2 Get Faster Chips and Updated Looks

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K runs a new A19 chip that Apple says delivers up to 50 percent faster CPU performance and up to 2x faster GPU performance than the prior generation, along with a dedicated AV1 decoder. Three far-field microphones enable hands-free Siri control, and a new Siri Remote — which Apple says keeps its familiar design — adds Find My support with Precision Finding and the ability to play a sound when lost. Apple's vice president of Worldwide Product Marketing, Bob Borchers, called it "our most immersive home theater experience yet," adding that "alongside HomeView, HomePod mini 2, and Apple Home Collection, it's part of the most connected Apple Home we've ever built."

HomePod mini 2 runs Apple's S10 chip with what the company describes as advanced computational audio that analyzes music in real time, comes in pink, green, blue, white and midnight, and adds a new "Sound Glow" light feature. It becomes available in stores on Friday, October 30, at $149. For the first time, Apple is enabling four-speaker surround sound, requiring four HomePod mini 2 or HomePod (2nd generation) units in matching front and rear pairs, paired with the new Apple TV 4K.

Home Collection Accessories Still Months Away

Apple also introduced the Apple Home Collection, described in its own newsroom post as "a new lineup of smart home cameras, thermostats, and a lock designed in collaboration with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric," which CNBC separately described as including new locks, doorbells and cameras from the two partners. None of it ships alongside the new hardware: Apple says the collection becomes available "starting in December, with select accessories available starting in early 2027." All three new devices can act as smart home hubs in the meantime, viewing camera feeds, adjusting thermostats and locking doors, with Apple TV 4K's Home app gaining Apple Intelligence-generated descriptions of camera activity and summarized notifications.

Pricing Increases and Where the Products Sit in Apple's Business

Two of the three new devices carry higher list prices than their predecessors. CNBC reported the Apple TV 4K rose to $299 from $199, and the HomePod mini rose to $149 from $129, increases the outlet linked to an earlier round of price hikes and to then-CEO Tim Cook's prior comments that memory costs for Apple had become unsustainable amid industry-wide memory and storage component shortages. Using the newly announced prices, the Apple TV 4K now costs $150 more than HomePod mini 2 (299 − 149), a 100.67 percent relative difference by our calculation ((299 − 149) / 149 × 100) based on the two disclosed figures.

CNBC also noted that Apple TV, HomePods and HomeView sit inside Apple's Wearables, Home and Accessories segment, which reported $7.88 billion in sales in the quarter ended June, about 7 percent of total company revenue, alongside AirPods and Apple Watch. The outlet characterized the new products as less critical to Apple than the iPhone and said investors remain focused on iPhone sales, while also framing the launch as a sign that home products are becoming a higher priority under new CEO John Ternus, who succeeded Tim Cook in September. This was the second launch event under Ternus, following last month's iPhone event that included a foldable model called the Duo priced near $2,000. Apple said setting up a new smart home device takes one tap from a user's iPhone; CNBC noted that such integration "helps further lock customers into its own ecosystem."

Bottom Line

Apple's home lineup refresh leans heavily on an AI feature, Siri AI, that is still rolling out in beta and, in HomePod mini 2's case, not available at launch at all. The company priced its new hardware above prior generations and pushed its most ambitious third-party accessory partnerships into December and early 2027, leaving the near-term sales impact tied to a product category that, per CNBC's reporting on Apple's own segment disclosures, represents a modest slice of total company revenue next to the iPhone.
