Adobe reported record third-quarter results that beat Wall Street estimates and raised its full-year revenue and profit guidance, with executives crediting continued traction from the company's artificial intelligence tools, according to a Yahoo Finance/Proactive report. The company said annual recurring revenue tied to its newest AI-first products grew more than 150% during the quarter, even as its fourth-quarter revenue outlook drew a mixed reaction from investors focused on generative-AI competition.
Record Revenue and an Earnings Beat

Adobe posted third-quarter revenue of $6.8 billion, up 13% from a year earlier and ahead of analyst estimates of $6.69 billion, Yahoo Finance/Proactive reported. Adjusted earnings per share came in at $6.13, topping estimates of $6.09 and up 15% year over year, per the same report. Our calculation, based on those two reported figures, shows revenue exceeded the analyst estimate by $0.11 billion, a difference of roughly 1.6% ((6.8 - 6.69) / 6.69 x 100). Adjusted EPS beat the estimate by $0.04, or about 0.7% ((6.13 - 6.09) / 6.09 x 100).
CEO Shantanu Narayen said the results reflected the company's broader AI push: "Adobe delivered record Q3 results, reflecting the strength of our AI innovation, expanding customer reach and leadership across creativity, productivity and customer experience," he said, according to Yahoo Finance/Proactive. Interim CFO Steve Day added, "Adobe delivered double-digit revenue and EPS growth in Q3 and we're raising full year revenue and EPS targets," the outlet reported.
Adobe's current segment disclosure groups results by customer type rather than by the Digital Media and Digital Experience lines it has historically reported. Customer Groups generated $6.6 billion in net revenue, up 14% year over year; Business Professionals & Consumers revenue rose 16% to $1.9 billion; and Creative & Marketing Professionals revenue grew 13% to $4.7 billion, Yahoo Finance/Proactive reported. That report did not include a GAAP earnings-per-share figure or a Digital Media/Digital Experience breakdown for the quarter under the newer reporting structure.
For context on how the business looked under the prior segment structure, Adobe's year-earlier third quarter (fiscal 2025) produced Digital Media segment revenue of $4.46 billion, up 12% year over year, and Digital Experience segment revenue of $1.48 billion, up 9%, according to StockTitan. That same year-earlier quarter posted diluted EPS of $4.18 on a GAAP basis and $5.31 on a non-GAAP basis, with GAAP operating income of $2.17 billion and non-GAAP operating income of $2.77 billion, StockTitan reported; Futurum Group separately noted non-GAAP diluted EPS of $5.31 that quarter topped expectations of $5.18.
Raised Full-Year and Fourth-Quarter Guidance
Adobe now expects full-year revenue of $26.58 billion to $26.63 billion, above the previous estimate of $26.51 billion, and full-year earnings per share of $24.45 to $24.50, topping a $24.36 estimate, Yahoo Finance/Proactive reported. The company also guided to annual recurring revenue growth of 10.2% year over year for the full year, per the same report.
For the fourth quarter, Adobe forecast revenue of $6.80 billion to $6.85 billion, compared with estimates of $6.84 billion, and EPS of $6.30 to $6.35 against estimates of $6.32, Yahoo Finance/Proactive reported. A separate account of the same results, published via Ground News/WTOP, characterized the fourth-quarter revenue guidance as disappointing to some investors and said it reignited concerns about competition from generative AI tools, even as the outlet acknowledged the company posted record revenue and AI-related recurring revenue growth above 150%.
AI-First ARR Growth Tops 150%

Adobe said total annual recurring revenue reached $27.5 billion in the quarter, with AI-first ARR growth exceeding 150%, Yahoo Finance/Proactive reported. Ground News/WTOP corroborated the AI-related recurring revenue growth figure of more than 150%.
Adobe has historically distinguished between two AI revenue measures. In the year-earlier quarter, Narayen said "AI-influenced ARR" had surpassed $5 billion while "AI-first ARR" had already exceeded the company's $250 million year-end target, according to StockTitan and a separate account from Marketwise. Neither of the accounts of the latest quarter cited an updated AI-influenced ARR figure beyond the $27.5 billion total ARR base and the greater-than-150% AI-first ARR growth rate reported by Yahoo Finance/Proactive.
Adobe also said it surpassed 1 billion monthly active users during the quarter, a milestone Narayen linked to a leadership transition: "Reaching a landmark of more than one billion monthly active users is a defining moment for Adobe, and I have confidence that Anil will build on this momentum to drive Adobe's next chapter of growth and innovation in the AI era," he said, per Yahoo Finance/Proactive.
Stock Reaction, Pricing and Competitive Positioning
Shares of Adobe rose around 1.3% after hours following the report, Yahoo Finance/Proactive said. That modest move sat alongside the more cautious framing from Ground News/WTOP, which noted the market remains concerned about how much pressure new AI tools will put on Adobe over the long term despite the record quarter.
On competitive positioning, Marketwise's Jeff Havenstein argued that Adobe's use of licensed or owned training data is a differentiator against rivals: "Adobe offers a product just as good as OpenAI and Google, but its models are commercially safe. Adobe's AI is trained on content that Adobe owns or is licensed to use," he wrote. Marketwise also described Adobe's Firefly pricing structure, noting it is free for basic use, with a standard plan starting at $10 per month and other subscriptions ranging from $30 to $200 monthly.
Adobe has also opened its creative tools to outside AI models rather than relying solely on Firefly. According to an Adobe blog post, the company's Generative Media Tool inside Premiere lets users choose between Adobe Firefly and partner models including Google Veo, Kling, Runway and Luma, selecting whichever model best fits a given creative task, rather than positioning Firefly as the only option.
On enterprise adoption, Marketwise reported that, as of the year-earlier quarter, nearly 90% of Adobe's top 50 large accounts had adopted one or more Adobe AI products, and more than 40% of those accounts had doubled their ARR spending with Adobe since the start of fiscal 2023. Futurum Group separately noted cross-cloud adoption trends, including "One Adobe" deals growing more than 60% year over year and 40% of the top 50 enterprise accounts doubling ARR since fiscal 2023.
Margin Trajectory Under AI Investment
On profitability, Futurum Group's Kirkpatrick wrote in a note tied to the prior year's results that "Margins remain resilient, aided by productivity gains in GPU utilization and cost management, despite stepped-up AI investment." That commentary accompanied fiscal 2025 targets that assumed a non-GAAP operating margin of roughly 46%, a non-GAAP tax rate of about 18.5%, and a diluted share count near 427 million, according to StockTitan. The reports on the latest quarter did not include an updated margin target or buyback disclosure.
Bottom Line
Adobe's latest quarter combined a straightforward beat-and-raise on revenue and adjusted earnings with a headline AI growth metric, AI-first ARR expanding more than 150%, that the company is using to argue its generative tools are converting into durable subscription revenue. At the same time, reporting on the release was not uniformly upbeat: alongside the modest after-hours share gain noted by Yahoo Finance/Proactive, Ground News/WTOP flagged that fourth-quarter revenue guidance underwhelmed some investors and reopened questions about how much competitive pressure Adobe faces from rival generative-AI image and video models. Investors will likely watch whether AI-first ARR growth and enterprise adoption trends continue at a similar pace as Adobe works through a broader leadership transition referenced by Narayen in the release.
