People unfamiliar with the market are always surprised by how big of an effect seasonality can play.
With that in mind, let’s look at what seasonality tells us could be in store.

This chart shows how the S&P 500 has performed in July on average, based on data going back to 1950.
Generally, July is a strong month.
But as you can see, the tendency is for most of the gains to be concentrated in the first half of the month…
With the second half seeing stagnant or even falling price action.
We’re right at the border of the second half of July.
Seasonality tells us not to be surprised if we see a pullback.
I’ve been saying the same as well.
But what I’m going to say next may be a little controversial. More below.

Ignore seasonality and focus on strength.
Does seasonality have predictive power? Definitely.
