Arista Networks reported third-quarter 2026 revenue of approximately $3.66 billion, up 58.5% from the same period last year, which the company described as its highest year-over-year revenue growth since its initial public offering, according to Arista's official third-quarter 2026 earnings release. Shares of the cloud networking company gained 9% in after-hours trading after current-quarter guidance topped Wall Street estimates, CNBC reported in its coverage of after-hours movers.

Record Quarter by the Numbers

Per the company's release, Q3 2026 revenue of $3.66 billion exceeded Arista's own prior guidance of $3.3 billion and marked a 20.5% sequential increase from the second quarter of 2026, in addition to the 58.5% year-over-year gain. CFO Chantelle Breithaupt said the quarter "brought a true trifecta for our company, setting new record highs in revenue growth, net income, and EPS," according to the press release. Chairperson and CEO Jayshree Ullal said Arista "registered another momentous quarter with the highest year-over-year revenue growth since our IPO and record profitability, surpassing even my high expectations," attributing the momentum to the company's "increased relevance for the generative and agentic AI era."

Guidance Tops Estimates, Stock Reacts

CNBC reported that Arista's current-quarter guidance exceeded analyst estimates, prompting the 9% after-hours share gain. The cited reporting and release do not specify the dollar or margin figures behind that guidance, so the size of the beat is supported only as characterized by CNBC. Arista also noted in its release that guidance for non-GAAP measures excludes items such as stock-based compensation expense, intangible asset amortization and tax benefits on stock-based awards, and that a reconciliation to GAAP on a forward-looking basis is not available because those items are difficult to predict.

AI Networking Architecture and Industry Collaboration

Arista's release detailed a new liquid-cooled AI networking portfolio built around what it calls the Etherlink SU-144 architecture, which it says supports up to 144 accelerators per rack in a single hop and can scale to 1,024 XPUs through cross-rack topologies. The company also highlighted its flagship 7800 AI Spine switch and its Arista EOS operating system, which it says uses Segment Routing over IPv6 to enable "lossless, high-radix AI fabrics" across geographically distributed data centers supporting up to one million XPUs, per the release.

Arista said it developed open standards-based rack-scale architectures for scale-up and scale-out AI networks in partnership with AMD, Arm, Broadcom, d-Matrix, Meta, Microsoft, and Qualcomm. The release frames this as a collaborative industry effort around open standards rather than naming these partners as the specific customers behind the quarter's revenue acceleration; the source material does not identify which hyperscale or enterprise customers drove the sequential growth.

Separately, Arista said it is collaborating with Anthropic, Google, and OpenAI to embed "domain-specific AI harnesses" into its development lifecycle aimed at accelerating proactive vulnerability discovery, building on what the company describes as its track record of low CVE counts and no-downtime upgrades.

S&P 100 Inclusion

Arista noted it was added to the S&P 100 index of major blue-chip companies in September 2026, a development the company cited as a milestone in its release.

Competitive and Supply Considerations

Arista's own forward-looking risk disclosures, included in its earnings materials, flag several factors that could affect future results: reliance upon a predominant merchant silicon vendor, enhanced import and export restrictions as well as countermeasures taken by affected countries, large purchases by a limited number of customers who represent a substantial portion of revenue, and "intense competition and industry consolidation." This language is standard safe-harbor disclosure rather than a specific warning tied to this quarter's results, but — as an interpretation of those disclosures — it points to two structural dynamics worth watching as AI networking spending grows: Arista's dependence on a predominant merchant silicon supplier and the competitive intensity of the market it serves. The release does not quantify customer concentration for the quarter or name competitors, and the company's emphasis on its Etherlink and EOS architecture is presented in the release as a product and standards initiative rather than a response to any named rival.

Bottom Line

Arista's Q3 2026 results show reported revenue growth of 58.5% year-over-year and 20.5% sequentially, which the company and CFO Breithaupt characterized as record-setting, while CNBC reported that above-consensus current-quarter guidance drove a 9% after-hours share gain. The company is pairing that growth with a push into liquid-cooled, rack-scale AI networking architecture it says was developed with partners including AMD, Arm, Broadcom, d-Matrix, Meta, Microsoft and Qualcomm. At the same time, Arista's own disclosures cite large purchases by a limited number of customers and reliance on a predominant merchant silicon vendor as risk factors — a reminder that the AI infrastructure demand behind this quarter's results also rests on a concentrated supply base.
