Forget About Market “Opinions” (Look for This Instead)

After yesterday’s CPI data, we got producer prices this morning.

It showed a 0% increase on a monthly basis – compared to the expected 0.2%.

That’s good news.

We also got the usual weekly jobless claims.

This time, claims spiked a little to 209,000 – above last week’s numbers and expectations.

Let’s see how markets have been moving.

Skin in the game beats a strong opinion.

Markets are full of opinions.

Analysts issue upgrades.

Fund managers go on TV.

Executives talk up their companies.

Sometimes they’re right.

Sometimes they’re not.

But there’s a big difference between saying you like something…

And putting your own money into it.

That’s why actual transactions are worth paying attention to.

If somebody says a stock is undervalued, you can listen.

If that same person then buys $500,000 worth of shares?

Now you have another piece of information.

It still doesn’t mean you should follow them in.

They could be early.

They could be wrong.

And their situation may be completely different from yours.

But money forces a decision in a way an opinion doesn’t.

So when you’re researching a stock, don’t just ask what people are saying about it.

Check whether anyone worth watching is actually putting actual capital behind those words.

Then run the trade through your own process.
